“… and they offered a sacrifice according to what is stated in the law of the Lord, ‘a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons’ … Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father knowing.” Pigeons or turtledoves, the humble offering is infinitely worthy because of that family of virgins ex opere operato fully submitted to God’s will. A Jewish Rabbi is the witness that sees for the first time the Messiah for what He is, the Son, the deliverer of Israel, so human, so apparently defenseless and yet destined to rule Creation with an iron scepter.
Today I stumbled on a prediction by Orthodox Israeli Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri who predicted the Messiah would arrive shortly after Ariel Sharon’s death. Sharon died on January 11, 2014. This rabbi also claimed the Messiah was revealed to him, he left an envelope with his name: Yeshua. The funny thing I noticed is that the Rabbi gives a series of words instead of a name. The name is to be composed of the Hebrew initials of those words.
I know of one previous case when the name of the Lord was coincidentally revealed that way in the words “Yeshua Ha’nazarei We’melek Ha’yehudim” meaning “Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews.” The Hebrew initials spell the Tetragrammaton, the sacred name of the God of Israel. That seemed to drive the enemies of Jesus crazy (see John 19:19-22). I wish I could transmit to our unbelieving friends the sense of a profound and yet inconceivably complex matrix that faith opens before us when we read Scripture carefully.
There are also things that happen to all of us that can allow us to glimpse at those realities beyond our senses. But to see them one has to be looking. (Daniel 12:10.)
