The great unveiling

I was told the Greek word apokalyptō / apokálypsis means “removing of the veil” and that is why the last book in the Catholic Bible is called the Apocalipsis or the Revelation to Saint John. Saint John was one of those disciples Our Lord called boanerges, the sons of thunder. The same St John was the one allowed to recline his head on Our Lord’s chest at the time of the Last Supper. It was at that time that Jesus gave him the sign to recognize the traitor among the twelve. That was revealed to St John right before Judas went “to the darkness outside” to find the end of his career as a liar, a thief, and a traitor.

Have you ever heard a beating heart, either through a stethoscope or by placing your ear on someone’s chest? If you did, you know it sounds a lot like a thunder but of course, not as loud. One of the Fathers of the Church believes that St John got all the wisdom necessary to write his wonderful Gospel from the very heart of Jesus. What could possibly be wiser than the Sacred Heart? Who has been closer to that heart than St John, with the sole exception of Our Blessed Mother? He was “the disciple whom Jesus loved” and the one that remained with the Master all the way to Calvary. He was also the first to peek into the empty tomb.

So revelations, thunders, and hearts go together in this moment when all kinds secrets are being revealed.

‘No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a high place, so that those who enter may see the light.  For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light. Then pay attention to how you listen; for to those who have, more will be given; and from those who do not have, even what they seem to have will be taken away.’ (Luke 8:11-18)

This parable has a lot to do with hearts, according to what St Paul says in 1 Corinthians 4:5.

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

“Pay attention to how you listen” is a strange phrase to include in a parable about light. Shouldn’t it be “pay attention to how you look”? But Our Lord said “Pay attention to how you listen.” When lighting illuminates the sky at night, thunder follows shortly after because light reaches our eyes faster than sound reaches our ears. In reality, both events happen simultaneously; they only appear to be separated to those who are far away. I believe Our Lord wants to teach us this: when something is revealed, it is revealed for a reason. He does not teach in the dark. First things are revealed and a lesson follows right after. Light alerts us to the lesson we are about to hear.

As usual, judgment began in the house of God. We had the exposure of the pedophile priests in Boston around 2002. Marcial Maciel, the founder the Legionnaires and Regnum was exposed to public shame and died in disgrace, rejecting confession. All over the world priests and even bishops had to be disciplined because of their disgraceful conduct. We have all been witnesses to dubious and sometimes heretical or immoral teachings appearing on Catholic TV, respected lay ministries have been found exploiting faithful volunteers while their big shot directors pay themselves six-figure salaries with the alms sent to them to increase the flock of Christ – not the content of their wallets.

Recently, it was the turn for Hollywood celebrities, politicians, big business executives, and others to taste the bitter wine of shame. The very ones that were scandalized by the conduct of false religious leaders were apparently committing the same sins to excess! Evil deeds seem to be exposed all over the place. I am not the only one saying this, please check the last Vortex video with Michael Boris for a splendid summary of what is going on.

That is the lightning illuminating the darkness of this world. Prepare yourself for the lesson because thunder is coming and not a minute too late. Surely some revelation is at hand, if Yeats allows me to borrow his phrase.

Vladimir Solovyov, a Russian mystic, philosopher, poet, and writer (not associated with Donald Trump in any way) was born on January 28, 1853 and died on August 13, 1900 only 17 years before the apparitions of Our lady of Fatima and the events of the October Revolution. He promoted the reunion of Eastern Orthodoxy with Rome. In his book Three Conversations, he tells a sort of prophetic tale. I do not have that volume and I am forced to quote from memory, I hope to be as faithful to it as possible.

Solovyov tells the story of an enormous conflict between Russia and forces coming from the East. During that conflict, a Pope called Peter II succeeds in uniting Protestantism, and Western Orthodoxy to the Catholic Church after a great sign is seen in the heavens, a woman clothed with the sun.

Please remember he is writing this in the late 1800’s, decades before the Apparitions of Fatima and the Virgin Mary’s call for the conversion of Russia, that is the return of Russia to the Catholic communion abandoned in 1054, or in other words, the triumph of the Virgin Mary’s Immaculate Heart.

The catalyst of this great reunification is the Signum Magnum, the glorious vision of the woman in the heavens, the reappearance of the live Ark of the Covenant seen in the vision of St John.

And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest render reward to thy servants the prophets and the saints, and to them that fear thy name, little and great, and shouldest destroy them who have corrupted the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven: and the Ark of His Testament was seen in His temple, and there were lightnings, and voices, and an earthquake, and great hail.   (Apocalypse 11:18-19 Douay-Rheims Bible.)

In his Apostolic Exhortation Signum Magnum given on May 13, 1967, Pope Paul VI said:

The first truth is this: Mary is the Mother of the Church not only because she is the Mother of Christ and His most intimate associate in “the new economy when the Son of God took a human nature from her, that He might in the mysteries of His flesh free man from sin,” but also because “she shines forth to the whole community of the elect as a model of the virtues.” Indeed, just as no human mother can limit her task to the generation of a new man but must extend it to the function of nourishing and educating her offspring, thus the blessed Virgin Mary, after participating in the redeeming sacrifice of the Son, and in such an intimate way as to deserve to be proclaimed by Him the Mother not only of His disciple John but – may we be allowed to affirm it – of mankind which he in some way represents, now continues to fulfill from heaven her maternal function as the cooperator in the birth and development of divine life in the individual souls of redeemed men. This is a most consoling truth which, by the free consent of God the All-Wise, is an integrating part of the mystery of human salvation; therefore it must be held as faith by all Christians.

I believe the time for those events is fast approaching. God will bring the Church to unity even if everyone in the Church is working to destroy it from within. Christ is the Lord of His Body, there is no way to resist Him. The vision of the Russian mystic Solovyov seems to make a lot of sense these days. Nothing better than a great manifestation of divine power to send a man walking in the straight and narrow path. Ask St Paul!

The lightning is illuminating the dark landscape of the world. Thunder is sure to follow. Listen.
