I invite you to pray this novena all the way to July 16th Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, for the intercession of Our Lady asking her to save her Church by sending many faithful with the spirit of Elijah. By the power of God may Our Lady chase away the false prophets lurking in the shadows who are defiling Holy Mother Church.

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this, my necessity:

O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein that thou art my Mother
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech thee, from the bottom of my heart, to succor me in this necessity; there are none that can withstand Thy power. O show me herein that thou art my Mother.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

What a wonderful idea! I’m a Third Order Carmelite and embarrassed it never occurred to me. It’s brief, which makes it more likely to be prayed. I know from personal experience that the very long Novenas can be instantly discouraging for those with busy family or who already have a full plate of daily prayers. Thank you again, keep blogging; you do a tremendous amount of good. ☺️

Thank you for your encouraging words! I do believe the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal is a biblical type representing what we are going through as a Church. Elijah “a man with sentiments such as ours” (according to St. Paul) prayed for a drought to punish unfaithful Israel but after seven years he prayed for rain that came first in the form of a small cloud forming over the sea (that is a type of Mary Most Holy) and then as a mighty storm that mired the enemies of God in mud. The brown of the Carmelite Scapular reminds me of that mud. That is the faith uniting the rain coming from Heaven and the dirt symbolizing humanity. Today we have to pray for the spirit of Elijah to come to the Church and do another great clean up. Compared with the degenerates we are enduring, the priests of Baal look like a appropriate yet weak type. Don’t you think?
