Things are bad but things are fine. The very chaos we see unfolding around us has become a sign that a limit is about to be reached.
and [God] said, “Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stopped.” (Job 38:11)
Destruction can progress only up to the limits set by God and no farther.
“And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.” (Matthew 24:22)
One more time we revisit the principle: “God is the Supreme Source of all that is good, and He is also the Supreme Benefactor.” All of God’s actions are for the benefit of Creation.
The question of our days is the same that the saints ask to God in the Apocalypse According to St. John:
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered for the word of God and for the testimony they had given; they cried out with a loud voice, ‘Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long will it be before you judge and avenge our blood on the inhabitants of the earth?’ (Revelation 6:9-11)
I believe the answer is found in the Book of Queen Esther, the Star-Queen. When Haman the Amalekite (through Agag,) the archenemy of the Jews, has the legal trap ready to erase Israel from the map — then God confuses the way Haman interprets reality. Thus evil Haman causes his own demise.
He is invited to a banquet in the royal palace. Once there, Haman discovers two things: the first is the Jewish identity of Queen Esther. That is quickly followed by the uncovering of Haman’s legal subterfuge to use the power of King Ahasuerus to annihilate the Jews. Unwittingly, Haman has attacked the royal household.
Fuming with anger, the King walks out to the garden to clear his mind and think of a solution to undo Haman’s evil conspiracy, to save Queen Esther, and to punish the conspirators.
It becomes crystal clear in Haman’s mind that as soon as the King returns from the garden, his head will not be worth a penny. Overcome by despair, he tries to convince Queen Esther to forgive him. He did not know that she was a relative of his enemy Mordecai the Jew.
Evil is first hypocritical but above all, evil is stupid. Haman is so thick that he forgets he is in the royal court, and the woman who now owns his life is the Queen of Persia. He throws himself at her feet, boldly holding the queen’s feet in an effort to save his despicable hide. At that moment, the King enters the room and quickly goes from political fury to espousal indignation at seeing someone touching what only the King should touch.
That night, Haman and the last of his descendants are hanged from the scaffolds he had prepared for Mordecai the Jew and his family. The last descendant of Amalek, one of the five kings who wanted to prevent the Israelites from entering the Promised Land, dies ignominiously the death of the damned: he is left hanging from the gallows all night. (Deuteronomy 21:23)
That is the unexpected happy ending for the 14th of Nisan, foreshadowing the triumph in Calvary on another 14th of Nisan still centuries in the future. On that Good Friday, Christ would hang from the Cross to save not one generation of Israelites but all of Israel for all times, and all men of good will as well.
But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, ‘You know nothing at all! You do not understand that it is better for you to have one man die for the people than to have the whole nation destroyed.’ He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was about to die for the nation. (John 11:49-51)
Thus the sinful race of Amalek perishes in Persia but in Calvary all sin perishes without remedy and history begins to move in the opposite direction. We no longer fly away from Eden but we are returning to the lost garden.
The innocence and goodness of the Star Queen have destroyed the infernal serpent of Amalek. The primeval murderer finally realizes that he has only succeeded in killing himself.
Today we are living another representation of the same drama. The shadow of the scaffold is reaching the simulators that managed to infiltrate God’s royal court. They think they are safe there, they feel in control of the situation but they are misinterpreting reality.
“So when you see the desolating sacrilege standing in the holy place, as was spoken of by the prophet Daniel […] From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. If something changes, it will be by divine intervention.
I have read today an article by Mark Mallett. I will quote this from his article:
“Now, “truth” becomes whatever the “majority” says it is until another majority changes that. Indeed, assisted suicide in Canada is now equated with “health care” just as abortion is now considered a “woman’s right”…
and his depressing assessment of the situation:
“There is no human sign on the horizon that the state of things are about to change.”

We have to pray with much fervor, especially the Holy Rosary. We are in very difficult times.
I still hope Father Scanlon is right and divine intervention could happened on October 13th, the anniversary of the miracle of the sun in Fatima or soon after.

Yes. That has been the theme of this blog for a long time. The words of Bishop Juan de Zumárraga to Emperor Charles V: “Unless there is supernatural help, the country will be lost!” And soon after those prophetic words, Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to save Mexico from certain ruin.
I won’t be different this time –except for the global scale– and this time we do not know how far the forces of chaos will be allowed to go. The good news is: the worse this situation gets, the more wonderful the divine solution will be.

I hope that the divine solution will be wonderful.
In the meantime, we see more and more divisions among the few Catholics still standing here in Quebec.
Churches here in Québec are empty. So much so that they are sold or demolished.
We are seeing very sad things. A 93 years old priest is very sad about selling a church to the Muslim Community of the town for them to use as a mosque and he asked the Bishop to block the sale of the Church and seems to mean that he will be kind of angry at him if he does not block the sale of the church.
The Muslim Community in our town is vibrant and, contrary to the French Canadians, they have many children and, also contrary to the French Canadians, they practice their religion.
And it seems that the way they see the native French Canadians is totally the opposite as the French Canadians see themselves.
Indeed, French Canadians see themselves as more evolved and modern because they do not have religion anymore and rely on science and technology and embrace all modern thinking like abortion and assisted suicide which they call dying with dignity.
The Muslim Community are rather seeing that as a sign of a decadent society and it is sad to say that they are right.
Very troubled time; I have never seen so much sad things as we are seeing right now.
Yes, it will take a divine intervention.
I pray the Rosary for this to happen.

It is hard to be optimistic. Our Lord assured us that the Gates of Hell would not prevail, but that doesn’t exclude the possibility that we will see the very Gates of Hell open before us and their contents pour out upon us, before Our Lord mercifully destroys them and sends them back from whence they came. Indeed, this calamity seems to have begun.
May the Lord God have mercy on us all.

We the laity are not free of guilt in all of this mess. I would expect Our Lord will purify us through a harrowing time, a time of unparalleled tribulation. All I can do is pray for mercy just as you said: May the Lord God have mercy on us all.

I believe events can go this way: the false church appears in the world, then a natural disaster or a war threatens the world and the pope of the false church tries desperately to do something pleasing to God. There the false church tries to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart and then … Christ destroys them, That would follow the sequence of the Cycle of Haman in the Book of Esther.
