Jesus answered them, ‘Beware that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, “I am the Messiah!” and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: all this is but the beginning of the birth pangs. (Mathew 24: 4-8)
As I follow the news here in BA three major events came to my attention. The US has withdrawn troops from Syria under apparent agreement with Turkey — a NATO member nation — that they won’t harm the Christian population of Syria. As reported in Fox News this morning, the Turkish leader, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has already ordered the bombing of Kurdish populations boldly violating said agreement.
First order of the day: pray for all Syrian Christians. The American blunder may have exposed them to annihilation at the hands of the same nation that perpetrated the Armenian genocide of 1914-1918. Pray hard. Storm heaven for our brothers and sisters that have endured persecution since the 7th century A.D.
I have written before in this blog about the prophecies predicting the Russian invasion of Turkey from the East. Such an invasion would mark the beginning of unprecedented violence and chaos in the world.
We are under Our Lord’s command “not to be alarmed” at what he calls “the beginning of the birth pangs.” And talking about birth pangs … Life Site News reports that “… when Mass had ended and the Pope had processed from St. Peter’s Basilica, a group of women began to chant and sing unfurling a banner reading: ‘Synod on the Amazon: Listen to the cry of the Mother Earth and peoples and become a prophetic Church.’”
‘So when you see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place, as was spoken of by the prophet Daniel … (Matthew 24:15-16)
The news from Vatican City seem to indicate that a sacrilegious abomination is standing there for everyone to see.
I would not be surprised, considering the various prophecies I have been studying for the last 20-25 years, that the Turks have been set up. They did not waste any time in attacking the Christian towns with genocidal fury. Russia may now enter Turkey to stop the Turks from attacking Syria. As prophesied, Russian troops may take Istanbul but NATO forces may also refuse to honor the mutual defense agreement with Turkey. Greece and other NATO forces may limit themselves to entering Turkey from the west to secure US nuclear silos and bases in Turkish territory. Greece may end up recovering its ancestral land, and Russia may end up controlling the coveted strait of the Dardanelles, the gate to the Black Sea. All of that has been prophesied at one time or another. What role may Syria and Israel play is still to be seen but we are most likely at the threshold of the “pangs of distress” for the whole world.
Please remember that there was a failed coup d’état in Turkey a few years ago that was followed by a purge of the high commanding officers in their armed forces. Many of the experienced Turkish military exiled after the coup may be counseling foreign countries now.
In the meanwhile: pray for our brothers and sisters in Syria and pray for our Church currently surrounded by this neo-pagan abomination. All’s well that ends well. In the end, the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph and humanity will have peace. Be of good cheer, Our Lord has conquered the world.
Please join me in praying for our brethren in Syria.

In their stupidity the Turks may end up trapped in a three-front war. It is too early to tell but Trump may have lured them to the Syrian border and that will make Putin’s entrance through the East much easier. They are already calling this “Trump’s blunder” but it seems to me that the Turks have no one to watch their behind. They are stretching themselves thin all over the place and their high command is reportedly made of those who are best at sucking up to Erdogan.

It seems to me that the ruling elites are transnational.
If there is a war, it will be because the elites of the various countries are agreeing to start one.
A war is a way to divert attention from the domestic problems which are more and more acute as we see with protests in France, in Hong Kong, and with the climate activists who are blocking streets here in Canada and also protesting in other countries.
After the war, the System will have a fresh new start similar to a guy coming out of a confessional unless God does not allow the System to rule the world any longer and instead entrust the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
We have to pray much, especially the Holy Rosary.

This is coming right on time for October 13. If it triggers the Great Tribulation it will all be contained within the seven year reign of Pope Francis. So Fr. Scanlon appears to be pretty close on the mark. 🙂
I agree with your hypothesis but I would add that they may start something that will get out of hand and end up affecting the whole world.
See what I found (below) the politics of this appear to favor the idea that this is a trap and Erdogan has fallen into it face down.
Black clouds over President Erdogan
by Thierry Meyssan
The accusations against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan continue to accumulate. While Russia and the United States indirectly supply the PKK with weapons, Turkey is accused of ordering the attacks carried out in Paris and Brussels, an accusation that finds confirmation in the recent statements of Erdogan himself and in an important testimony of King Abdala of Jordan. On the other hand, Washington has just opened an investigation into a huge embezzlement of funds in favor of the AKP.

Thank you Carlos to keep us informed.
Great article!
We have to pray the Rosary because, yes, Father Scanlon may be spot on and there is much trouble ahead. Father Scanlon is a man of God no doubt.
I admire your serenity Carlos. Surely, you are very close to Our Blessed Mother!

Ce n’est pas du sang froid. Living in Argentina is good training for the end of the world! 🙂 We have been through it a few times! And we must trust in Our Lord Jesus like the three Hebrews inside the furnace. (Daniel 3:1-30)

I am kind of skeptical about this war in Syria developing in a major conflict.
Mr Erdogan, Turkey’s head of state, threatened the European countries saying that if they do not mind their business and let Turkey do what they want to do in Syria, he can let go into Europe hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees now living in Turkey.
So Turkey can easily blackmail the European countries to keep quiet.
The fact that we are living in an era similar to the days of Noah, I have always thought that a global natural disaster will happen to end this sad era we are living in, something similar to the great flood.
Maybe an asteroid will hit the earth or something like that.
We have to pray, especially the Rosary, because something has to happen and it will be sooner than later.

Erdogan is small potatoes. His days are counted. Turkey will be the first Islamic country to disappear. They will pay for what they did in Armenia in 1919.

You are right. A lot of things will probably happen simultaneously as Jesus told us.
Speaking about Armenia, did you know Carlos that the great Charles Aznavour was of armenian descent.
And he did write a very touching Ave Maria.
God Bless!

Yes I remember his complete name was” Aznavourian” right? Christianity began to spread in Armenia soon after Jesus’ death, due to the efforts of two of his apostles, St. Thaddeus and St. Bartholomew. In the early 4th century, the Kingdom of Armenia became the first state to adopt Christianity as a state religion. when their king converted.

Carlos,
I have just noticed that this October, the full moon falls on October 13th, the anniversary of the Fatima apparitions and the famous date Father Scanlon has written about.
Do you think it could be meaningful in some way?
United in prayer.
God Bless!

Is there no process for expelling Turkey from NATO? They are not, after all, anything much like allies. They are better described as distasteful associates who regularly act against the interests of Europe and the U.S., but in whose territory we happen, ironically, to have military bases.
A just response would be to exclude them from NATO, declare all the areas where the U.S. has military assets to be a newly-formed Kurdistan, and then make Kurdistan a NATO member.
Not going to happen, of course. But we daydream about justice on earth because, though we believe it will be granted ultimately in Heaven, we can’t yet see it.

It may be an act of divine justice. Turkey is an artificial country, the sad remnant of the Ottoman Empire. Their territory was taken from Greece and various other countries less than six centuries ago. In my opinion, the Russians are going to carve it. The Turks have been bad friends of some and enemies of all the rest for too long. There are various prophecies indicating that they will be defeated and expelled.
