Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NRSVACE)
A few days ago, I posted a purely speculative article based on a video presented by Mr. José Luis Gómez who had a locution of sorts while praying near the pines in Garabandal.
On 12 July 2017 Mr. José Luis Gómez declares to have been to the site of the apparitions in Garabandal, a small town of the Cantabria region of Spain. He says he heard a voice while praying, informing him that the remains of a certain pine split by lightning had some prophetic meaning:
- The two main parts of the pine trunk represented two years.
- The two smaller branches represented two months.
- The a long branch represented a number of days, presumably under a month.
Mr. Gómez thought he had been revealed the date of the Warning, or Illumination of Conscience. He calculated that event would take place some time between October 1 and October 13, 2019. Because October 13 is the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun occurred in Fatima, Portugal in 1917, it was easy to infer that may be the day when the illumination of conscience would happen. But that was not the case. October 13 came and went without the Illumination of Conscience. That was not an uneventful day, by the way. The war in Syria intensified with the arrival of Turkish forces that moved in as the American forces left the area. Those who are familiar with the prophecies of the Gaon of Vilnius and Elder Paisios saw the pieces of their prophecies falling into place.
Those events would have gone unnoticed before the background of the never ending violence in the Middle East, save for what was happening in Rome. On October 7, the anniversary of the battle of Lepanto, while Vladimir Putin celebrated his birthday in Russia, the now infamous Synod of the Amazon began its sessions scheduled to end on October 27.
Among the opening ceremonies, a number of indigenous people from the Amazon area performed a pagan ceremony in the Vatican Gardens with the assistance of the Pope and members of the curia. Later on, during Mass at the Basilica of St. Peter, pagan images and other paraphernalia were introduced at the celebration. One could imagine that Our Lord was not too amused seeing such violation of the First Commandment.
It reminded me of a part of the Old Testament that I haven’t revisited in a while.
The Abomination in the House of God
Then God said to me, ‘O mortal, lift up your eyes now in the direction of the north.’ So I lifted up my eyes towards the north, and there, north of the altar gate, in the entrance, was this image of jealousy. He said to me, ‘Mortal, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel are committing here, to drive me far from my sanctuary? Yet you will see still greater abominations.’
And he brought me to the entrance of the court; I looked, and there was a hole in the wall. Then he said to me, ‘Mortal, dig through the wall’; and when I dug through the wall, there was an entrance. He said to me, ‘Go in, and see the vile abominations that they are committing here.’ So I went in and looked; there, portrayed on the wall all round, were all kinds of creeping things, and loathsome animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel. Before them stood seventy of the elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had his censer in his hand, and the fragrant cloud of incense was ascending. Then he said to me, ‘Mortal, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in his room of images? For they say, “The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.”’ He said also to me, ‘You will see still greater abominations that they are committing.’
Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the Lord; women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz. Then he said to me, ‘Have you seen this, O mortal? You will see still greater abominations than these.’
And he brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord; there, at the entrance of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs to the temple of the Lord, and their faces towards the east, prostrating themselves to the sun towards the east. Then he said to me, ‘Have you seen this, O mortal? Is it not bad enough that the house of Judah commits the abominations done here? Must they fill the land with violence, and provoke my anger still further? See, they are putting the branch to their nose! Therefore I will act in wrath; my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; and though they cry in my hearing with a loud voice, I will not listen to them.’ (Ezekiel 8 NRSVACE)
God does not miss much, doesn’t He? While the Vatican gets busy offending God with Pagan ceremonies, not too far from Rome the Syrian border with Turkey boils with a regional conflict that could easily spill over Europe with serious consequences for Italy and Vatican City, only a few hours away from the Syrian war theater.
So, Mr. Gómez was not that wrong after all. The pine that was hit by lighting and split represented not only a certain period of time but the emergence of a Catholic Church split in two between apostates and faithful believers.
If I am not mistaken, we will see how the wrath of God befalls the wrongdoers. Our Lady warned us that the cup of divine anger was almost full in 1917, and that it was overflowing by 1973. The time for divine justice has arrived and who can escape His wrath?
Therefore hear this, you who are wounded, who are drunk, but not with wine: Thus says your Sovereign, the Lord, your God who pleads the cause of his people: See, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering; you shall drink no more from the bowl of my wrath. 23 And I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who have said to you, ‘Bow down, that we may walk on you’; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to walk on. (Isaiah 51:21-23)
Peter denied the Lord three times the night of the Lord’s Passion.
Then they seized him [Jesus] and led him away, bringing him into the high priest’s house. But Peter was following at a distance. When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. Then a servant-girl, seeing him in the firelight, stared at him and said, ‘This man also was with him.’ But he denied it, saying, ‘Woman, I do not know him.’ A little later someone else, on seeing him, said, ‘You also are one of them.’ But Peter said, ‘Man, I am not!’ Then about an hour later yet another kept insisting, ‘Surely this man also was with him; for he is a Galilean.’ But Peter said, ‘Man, I do not know what you are talking about!’ At that moment, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed. The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, ‘Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times.’ And he went out and wept bitterly. (Luke 22:54-62)
The rooster crows just before dawn. Let that sink in. The Passion of the Christ is underway at the darkest hour, the hour before dawn. In the same manner we should expect a triple denial of the Lord, the Great Apostasy, to take place in the final darkness that precedes the end of the age.
The same happened at the hour of the Cross. The majority of the followers of Jesus went into hiding, abandoning their Master. That included Peter. Only one among the disciples, John, dared to stand next to the Cross with Our Blessed Mother and the women that followed Jesus. The dark and bitter hours that passed until the first Resurrection Sunday were soon forgotten when they all realized that Christ was alive and the dawn of the Kingdom of God was shining upon them.
The illumination of conscience may be upon us yet. Every soul will have to chose between light and darkness.
In our times, Peter has to deny the Lord three times. Then the rooster crows (universal illumination of conscience) and then the Passion of the Church takes place, the suffering path to a Glory Sunday that never ends.
It is very strange.
Nothing changed for the better yesterday October 13th.
And I was so convinced that Father Scanlon was right. The same evils in society are still standing strong with no sign of weakening.
It is a challenge for our faith no doubt.
We must be in overtime as in a hockey game or a soccer game.
I like the example of John the Apostle, He has been an example of great faith during the passion of Our Lord. He surely is the guy to imitate.
A friend of mine told me that if Israel enters this war in Syria, it will be the end of the United States because if the US enters the war to help Israel, it will result in social unrest in the United States and exactly the same thing if the US does not enter the war to help Israel.
So the key is for Israel to stay completely outside of this war in Syria, what I think they will do because Jewish people are probably the wisest people on earth.
This is the reason why, as you suggest in your article, I think the greatest danger of this war in Syria is for Europe and that is exactly what I told this friend of mine.
The French in particular with all their troubles at home (yellow vests protests etc…) could have the bad idea to intervene in Syria to divert attention from their domestic problems.
We have to pray much, especially the Rosary.
Thank you Carlos for this article!
God Bless!

I have nothing edifying or encouraging to add. We’re in uncharted territory with this Pagan worship in the Vatican hosted by Pope Francis, featuring naked fertility goddesses and women breastfeeding dogs. It is stupefying. I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been – daily Mass and rosary. Christ knows what’s going on and will deal with it in His own way, in His own time.
I think some time outs from immersing ourselves in this would be a good idea for many of us.

I commented before somewhere that I think Pres. Trump is moving out of the way for various reasons of both national interest and tactical value. Here are some of the prophetic hints I can see.
1. Both the US and Russia have been supporting the Christian Kurds in Syria
2. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, was born one October 7, on the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto where the Turks were defeated.
3. Turkey is not in good terms with not one of their neighbors.
4 Russia covets the Straits, the only exit off the Black Sea. Armenia, Greece, Syria, etc. lost ots ancestral territory to the Turks. They are their natural enemies.
5. Attacks on the Syrian Christians may justify the intervention of Russia in Turkey. The Russians will take over Istanbul, it has been predicted in the 1700’s by the Gaon of Vilnius, a Jewish sage.
6. Russia entering NATO territory (Turkey) compromises the peace in Europe. That may have dire consequences for world peace.
How those different elements will interplay, no one knows exactly. All I can say is that we are in a very similar situation to the Great War of 1914. Add to that the fact that the Church has lost all sense of direction and moral authority under Francis. I am convinced that we will not see the end of autumn without major developments and the Illumination of Conscience may happen before that. That is my hope.

If you rely on the following article:

Turkey is harboring US nuclear weapons on its territory and president Trump is about to authorize sanctions on Turkey.
It seems to be a very delicate situation.
We have to watch and pray, especially the Holy Rosary!
Thank you Carlos for your answer!

As for the response to President Trump’s sanctions, here’s an article just posted at The Conservative Treehouse, aka The Last Refuge:
Trump’s Syrian Maneuver Works – President Erdogan Asks for Negotiations With Kurds in Syria…
Posted on October 14, 2019 by sundance
President Trump has played this out perfectly. By isolating Turkish President Recep Erdogan, and effectively leaving him naked to an alliance of his enemies, Erdogan is now urgently asking for the U.S. to mediate peace negotiations with Kurdish forces.
This request happens immediately after President Trump signed an executive order … triggering the sanction authority of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. Erdogan called the White House requesting an urgent phone call with President Trump. …

Also contained at the link above is a Fox news video “Pence Speaks to Press after White House Meeting” in which you can hear Vice President Pence stating that “President Erdoğan reached out and requested the call, and President Trump communicated to him very clearly that the United States of America wants Turkey to stop the invasion, to implement an immediate ceasefire, and to begin to negotiate with Kurdish forces in Syria to bring an end to the violence,” … as you can also read about in the following news article at the link provided below:

If it is not by war, it will be by some global natural disaster that chastisement will come.
The way I see it, there is nothing short of a huge catastrophe that will turn people back to God.
And if we are to believe Father Scanlon concerning Satan, his time is done, We are passed October 13th and I do believe Father Scanlon is spot on with what he wrote.
So, all the deals those politicians of all sides and of all countries can make between them will not spare the world from the wrath of God.
Something is coming, I don’t know what it is, but it is coming because the current statu quo is becoming unbearable.
We have to pray the Rosary with great fervor!

My last comment was refering in a way to something a priest told me almost 20 years ago.
If we go back 20 years ago, even then, the Catholic faith was “moribonde” in Québec and people did not assist to mass in great number and young people under 35 years old even less.
If the faith is not transmitted to the younger generations, it is over for the future of the faith.
So, chuches were more and more empty. And it was almost 20 years ago. Today, the few people still practicing are generally older people.
The only young people or children you see at Church are immigrants recently arrived in the country, often from Africa (maybe God wants to replace the natives French Canadians who do not care for the first Commandment by Africans who care… just a thought).
What I want to say is this: this priest I know told me almost 20 years ago that nothing short of, to use his words, a “great scare” would bring the native French Canadians back to the church.
And he added that if nothing happens, they would have to close almost all the churches of the diocese in 15 years.
And he said it in the year 2000.
We are in 2019.
The fact that there was no “great scare” since (and no chastisement two days ago which would have been this “great scare”), we have to ask ourselves what is the message God is sending us.
I was talking about more and more people from Africa arriving here in Canada and in Québec, especially the last ten years.
Contrary to the native French Canadians who have an average of 1.3 children by family (and many couple do not have any), the African immigrants are rarely seen having few children. They have many and they bring them to church.
Maybe the chastisement is just that. The people from African descent, who are pious and go to church, will replace one day the French Canadians in their own land because French Canadians refused to honor God and give thanks to the Lord.
So, it will be a slow process but one day in Canada and in Québec, God will be honored again by the new Canadians.

There is a difference between the Chastisement and the Warning. The Warning comes first, according to the visionaries of Garabandal. Then, if the Warning is not heeded, the Chastisement will follow. Most likely the Warning will not be heeded by the majority of mankind but for those who believe even faintly, it would serve to make them more solid in their faith. The process you describe for Canada, is the same more or less all over the West. But be of good cheer, do not be anxious. Our Lord lives and is watching this mess. I am convinced the Warning is about to happen, I may be wrong but I have many personal inklings that the Warning is about to hit us. That will cause a reaction. Persecution will intensify and then a brutal Chastisement will rock the nations as the rule of the Antichrist is established. That one will be dispatched by Christ Himself. The “schedule” of all those events no one knows for sure but we know that after some sifting the Church will emerge more glorious than ever. In the end the Immaculate Heart will triumph, immersing the purified world in the love of God.

If the reports on Trump are true, the man is a genius.
However, the situation is very delicate and no matter how smart President Trump is he can’t have complete control of events. The situation is very much set up for the fulfillment of much approved Catholic prophesy that predicts an invasion of Europe by Russia and a coincidental defeat of a Mohammedan invasion, followed by mass-conversion.
Carlos, your split tree/split Church interpretation of Mr Gomez’ locution is very plausible.
May the Lord God have mercy on us all.

The guy’s a genius and a risk-taker but you are right, even geniuses are not in control of all the variables. What has happened is simply, the Russians have picked up the task of protecting the Christian Kurds. Should Turkey engage in their old favorite sport (masacre of Christians) the Russians may retaliate by entering their territory and then Pandora’s box will be open on every side.
May God have mercy on us all and hide us deep inside His Sacred Heart until this mess is over.

We have been living in a state of war since the beginning of the 1990’s. It is a spiritual war.
I remember well when pope John Paul II came here in Canada in 1984. At that time, people were crowding the streets to see the popemobile driving through the streets of my town.
When the year 1990 arrived and this decade started, everything change and especially the news medias were not talking about religious things anymore and many tv programs about religion were abandoned by mainstream medias.
Instead, there were more bad things said about the Roman Catholic religion and emphasis was really put on new technologies and also a kind of commercial overdrive and construction overdrive with it.
And it seems it was kind of the same in many western countries.
I remember in 1998, if I remember well, pope John Paul II this time was in Cuba. It was a huge event and they started broadcasting it but suddenly all the networks change their news because, “by coincidence”, there was the news of the possible impeachment of the US president.
And by 2005, the major networks here in Canada did not need any coincidence to change their programming of the Conclave in Rome because there were too few viewers, so they switch to something else that will get better ratings.
Now in 2019, Godless people seem to have the upper hand.
And I am certain those people rejoice to have seen their statu quo persisting after October 13th.
It has become a challenge for the believers.
We have to pray to keep the faith, especially the Rosary.

What you are saying is true. I differ only in one thing. Those are signs that our liberation is near. When one sees a woman breastfeeding a dog on an official Vatican ceremony; when the Italian police has to intervene to stop a noisy, drug-fueled, homosexual orgy in the apartments of a cardinal; when the Pope is reported on the press as not believing in the divinity of Christ; when rampant homosexuality among the clergy does not even raise an eyebrow anymore; when regular Catholics fail to react effectively against the plague of child sexual abuse by so-called priests; and Marx is preached from the pulpits … I have no doubt in my mind that the abomination is standing in the holy place. That means one thing to me: our liberation is near! and I believe it because Jesus Our Lord instructed us so. Our liberation is near: what news could be better than that?

Carlos,
I agree with you that our liberation has to be near. However, if Father Scanlon is right, the increased power of Satan should have been over by October 13th.
Today is October 16th and it does not look that the increased power of Satan is over by any mean looking at society.
You have to come to the hypothesis that probably October 13th 1917 was not the date the increased power of Satan started. It could have been later.
Maybe you can tell me about this but I have heard that sometimes things happen seven days after a deadline set by God.
So I do not know what to think.
I will continue to pray the Rosary.
God Bless!

The dates rarely mean anything “in the moment” but they become significant “after the fact” because “we walk by faith not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7 “So we are always confident; even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord— for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. For all of us must appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil.” 2 Corinthians 5: 6-10
We are not blind and yet many things are hidden from us for our own good, to make us stronger in trust.
