A beloved friend of many years, a fine person, called me “brainwashed” perhaps upset by one of my posts. This person is academically well educated, Obama sympathizer, resident of one of those uber-liberal towns, and sweet person indeed. I was shocked and nearly took offense but then I thought we have arrived at the end times prophesied by St. Francis when madmen would call sane men mad and condemn them.
While I lived in the United States I had many jobs in various states of the Union. Like many other immigrants I started at a menial level and moved up to more difficult and profitable occupations. For about 25 years I was involved in automating analytical tasks. It was hard at first but after a while I became good at it. In the eyes of some, perhaps I became too good. In several occasions I was hired to solve problems similar to those caused by the bizarre –yes, I said bizarre– numbers emerging from the American Presidential Elections of 2020.
I will include here a pair of images that only math and statistical geeks will understand. If you think I am a poor old man brainwashed by the mean orange man, you are entitled to your opinion but should you and I ever meet in court, I will ask you to provide a sound technical explanation for the phenomenon described below. Such things I never have witnessed in many years of looking at boring graphics representing data universes of all kinds from insurance risk figures to adverse effects tables of some clinical trial or other.
See, I think it is fine if persons of great media clout and even greater personal idiocy disagree with me. I worked in many places with men who did not have the faintest idea of what was going on in their companies. They simply pay somebody to read the tea leaves and tell them if they should go left or right. They are no Carnegie or Ford. They are up there because they play golf (and do worse things) with those who can help them move up. The French called that kind of man arriviste and the less sophisticated Texans called him a turtle on a post, able only to generate one question: who put them up there?
A friend of mine described the situation brilliantly:
Everyone knows it has been going on – not many are aware of the techniques used. All of this makes my faith stronger and more important. I am reading a book by Paul Johnson called The Modern Age in which we see how strong the demonic was in the 20th Century. Once a society crosses over into lawlessness, it never really comes back as it once was. We know that most of the worst die peacefully in their beds after dipping their paws into rivers of blood. Therefore I don’t expect the mystery of iniquity to be exposed and castigated any time soon. I believe the bad guys will continue to become ever more bold and that they will bring to each of our lives the demonic touch. I know who wins in the end and Pascal’s wager applies. I wouldn’t want to be one of the octogenarian power maddened creeps who think they are on top at the moment. There is news out of Denmark that the COVID virus has jumped the species barrier and back again in a mutated form. It could render the new vaccination held back until Mr. B got his crown from the meejah less efficacious. When the octogenarian small c “catholics” see the Bridegroom coming and their lamps are out of oil… children of darkness calling on the name of Saint Teddy Kennedy for political leverage at the pearly gates is probably not going to cut it. There will most likely be the gnashing of implanted teeth in the howling caverns of hell when the Bridegroom says, “I do not know you.” We are not allowed to judge the condition of another’s soul, however works are in line for some criticism, and repentance should involve a modicum of salutary humility that is not anywhere apparent in view. The good thief option seems to be about all that is left for the most visible of them. I sure would like to know when Satan’s hundred years have run out so we can go back to just normal valley of tears fallen world guilt and confession with a functioning prelature. This apocalyptic beastliness is wearing on me.
Finally we are seeing where the Age of Revolutions has landed us on: a world governed not by men united by a camaraderie forged in war, business, or some other epic struggle but by effeminates of weak minds who make connections at cocktail parties where some play cock and others play tail. If you expect to raise a family and make a living honestly in a world run by such characters … you are out of luck.
As the Church grows more and more delinquent in her duty of being the light of the world, the more the world careens into darkness. With thousands of nuclear warheads sleeping in silos throughout the world this is no a minor issue. We have neglected to watch the gun closet and cousin Dimwit is now pointing a revolver at us demanding to be in charge of everything. The revolutionaries have unseated kings all over the world but they never imagine some savage was going to unseat them.
While Prime Minister and President were busy running the show, the nuts were conspiring to make themselves kings. The American Presidential Elections of 2020 were exactly that. The fools loaded the voting machines in plain view of everyone, knowing full well that few if any will have the guts to fight to the death for law and order. They were in just for the job’s benefits. As for the nuts, they did not quite understand how those computers that were so helpful to cheat could possibly help someone to show the world how they were cheating! But that’s no problem. The judges won’t understand either. They will hire someone to read the data and tell them if they should go left or right.
The brainwashed who cannot understand a thing unless Brian Williams explains it will go on calling others brainwashed and so this apocalyptic beastliness goes on until God says “Enough!”
To each his suff’rings: all are men,
Condemn’d alike to groan,
The tender for another’s pain;
Th’ unfeeling for his own.
Yet ah! why should they know their fate?
Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies.
Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
‘Tis folly to be wise.
(Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College, by Thomas Gray)
